traditions and stories in settings that have the friendly feel of small towns. From buildings and
equipment to teaspoons and cookie jars – and of course the intriguing histories and tales that
made local residents into local legends – these hidden gems reflect the vision of Alberta’s
pioneers.
This series explores how animals can bring profound freedom and change to challenged lives.

Through in-depth personal interviews with trainers, families, facilitators and those who use
service animals, this series offers insights into the emotional transformations that service
animals create.
Urban environments are in transition, especially the inner city. From re-purposing derelict
buildings and even entire neighbourhoods, to finding new uses for underutilized spaces,
offering artists gigantic walls on which to paint, even letting kids have their say in designing
streetscapes, this series delves into the many innovative ways a modern city can re-invent
itself.
Throughout southern Alberta are farmers, growers, and innovators who are passionate about
producing delicious, wholesome food. Host Chris Halpen, a professional chef and instructor,
drives out to discover delectable cheese, gorgeous microgreens, rainbow carrots and candy-
cane beets, honey, and much more. Chris meets people who have a deep understanding of the
land, water and pollinators that make everything come to life. The series wraps in the kitchen
as Chris prepares a feast for friends that features the raw foods he discovered.
